The Coast
Guard Auxiliary Web Site tells all
Greetings from all the members of the United States Coast
Guard Auxiliary in the Seventh District. We are pleased that you have taken
the time to find out a little more about whom we are and what we do.
The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary is the civilian,
uniformed volunteer component of the United States Coast Guard, as well as
the lead volunteer force in the Department of Homeland Security. Founded in
1939 by an Act of Congress as the US Coast Guard Reserves and was
re-designated as the Auxiliary in 1941. The Seventh District 5,000 plus volunteer
members donate thousands of hours in support of Coast Guard missions, such
as Search & Rescue, Public Education, Marine Environmental Protection and
Maritime Domain Awareness.
Our District reaches from South Carolina, through Georgia and
Florida to the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. The "Super Seventh" has
870 operational boats, 500 VHF radio stations facilities and over 57
aircraft to assist the United States Coast Guard.
We are always looking for active new members to wear the
Coast Guard Blue and share with us proud traditions and worthy missions. Why
not join with us as we serve the boating public and our national security?
Semper Paratus! Always ready!
